Our Vision

YouthCon Foundation is out to terminate the vicious cycles of hopelessness and frustrations in our youths arising from not knowing what to do with what God has deposited in them at birth.

Simply put, we want to give: – Hope to the hopeless – Light to those in the dark  – Direction to the confused – Compass to the lost – A future to those with bleak future or without one Rest to the restless – Success to the failure!

Youthcon Foundation is born to assist the youths rediscover themselves and to harness their inner potentials as a result of such discoveries.
  • We are professionals.
  • We are dedicated.
  • We care for you.
  • We are capable.
  • We deliver.
  • We are the Ripe Apple Organisation!

Looking at life from inception, life has passed through several stages with its own peculiar problems. Unfortunately, the past generations have not done enough to address these issues. Now our generation is confronted with problems such as hunger and starvation, youth restiveness, wars – both religious and political, hopelessness and directionlessness, sickness and diseases including the incurable HIV/AIDS. These problems are more with us and staring at our faces.

This is why Youthcon Foundation was conceived and delivered with the clear mandate of assisting the youth rediscover themselves.

Our strategy involves reaching the youths at their domains where they can be found in large numbers. As such, we move from school to school as well as gather them in a particular location and teach them in form of seminars, symposia and workshops on relevant topics. At times we organize quiz competition for the schools and give them gifts and certificates of participation.

All these are important because we believe that the potentials in these youths are like the values contained in gold. Until the gold is passed through fire, the value cannot be maximized. So we take the youths through the fire of seminars to bring their potentials to the surface.

Our programmes are basically capacity building, sensitization  and awareness programmes on our nine focal points: careers, talent, personal development, courses to pursue, counseling and mentoring, funding for school and other hand works, self rediscovery and sex related issues.

In the course of our interaction with these youths, we discover one major hindrance to the attainment of their goals – finance.

As a result, we pool our resources together in scholarship programme called “Youthcon Trust Fund”. This Fund is meant to cater for the indigent youths. The Fund will help them gain any type of education they want in any institution they want to attend. It will not be based on the academic performance but for the need for same. Most of the scholarship schemes available are too politically oriented and depend too much on knowing somebody who knows somebody or getting important people behind you or having a senator or a minister uncle.

We dream of a scholarship scheme that gives priority to pure talent in any field of human endeavour. We dream of seeking out those gifted young people who deserve a chance for success but would never be able to get near it because of lack of funds.

We dream of providing a platform for the financially disadvantaged young people to compete with their peers from other places. We dream of ending painful circles of hopelessness and giving our youths a hope, future and a voice in this wilderness of life.

This fund will be channeled towards payment of the students’ school fees, buying their text and exercise books as well as other needs of the students and educating them on reproductive health issues.

The Youthcon Reading Library Project seeks to encourage the culture of reading among the youths by creating conducive and comfortable reading rooms in schools. As such we intend to build warm and inviting reading rooms across the country for students, educators, and the community to come together to enjoy reading. A wise man had said “you are the same person in three years time but for two things; the books you read and the company you keep”. Reading has a great role to play in remoulding the youth but unfortunately many youths have abandoned reading for other things while many of the schools on their own part have no library or ill-equipped libraries.

This is the gap we are out to fill.

We will create audio-visual state-of-the-art reading rooms and also stock in books from different fields of human endeavours for the reading benefits of the people.

The high level decadence in our society today has it roots in poverty. When a young man is hungry and you dangle a carrot of crime before his face, he grabs it. Likewise when a young girl and somebody offers peanuts in exchange for sex, they quickly agree to such proposals The prevalence of the HIV/AIDS in our society and other sexually transmitted infections has been traced to poverty. But by making them economically independent, we believe we will be in a better position to fight the scourge.

The economic loss of these STI’s and other reproductive health issues such as Vesico vaginal fistula (VVF) is enormous and we cannot just fold our hands doing nothing about it.

This is why we want to fight these societal menaces through our economic empowerment initiatives. We are not only concerned about the educational advancement of our people, but we also care for their economic independence.

The YouthCon Centre for Empowerment Scheme aims at training young people in enterprises including but not limited to the following, tailoring, hair barbing and dressing, carpentry, automotive repairs and maintenance, catering, computer engineering as well as other hand works of their interest. The Fund will be used to pay for their apprenticeship and at the end, buy the tools they need to take off in life.

The YouthCon School of Talent will serve as centre for discovering pure talents in various fields of human endeavour. It will be a citadel of discovering inculcating pure skills in addition to other skills our beneficiaries will be exposed to outside our Centre. It will be a centre for bringing out the raw talent inside them.

The school will contain sports complex, theatre for drama, swimming pool, sports fields and courts as well as other facilities for effective in sciences and engineering and other skills. For success of the school, we will be running a mentoring programmes where each gifted youth is attached to an accomplished mentor in his/her field. We will also be collaborating with established institutions like Nigeria Guild of Actors, Sports Academics, Performance Musicians Association of Nigeria and others including individual mentors.
